PARENT INFORMATION

Our homemade meals are freshly prepared by our experienced cook, who provides the Nursery with delicious cooked meals. We thoroughly believe that healthy eating in the early years sets the trend for future lifestyle.

Our cook prepares three main meals and two snacks each day which are nutritionally balanced. We offer breakfast, lunch and a tea in the afternoon to all children attending the Nursery. Milk and water are served with snacks and meals and children can access fresh water throughout the day.  We believe meal times are a social event, enjoyed with other children and staff in small groups. Children are encouraged to have good table manners and to try new foods. They are encouraged to try a little of everything and praised for trying new foods. Staff talk to the children as they eat, as they would in a home situation, about the meal and also have normal day to day conversations.  They talk with the children about why it is important to eat healthily. The children are actively involved at meal times, serving their own food and then clearing their plates away.

We run a Summer and Winter menu on a two-week cycle. We can also offer alternatives according to children’s needs.
